Berg en Dal Kennels and Cattery is situated on a small holding on the outskirts of Pretoria East, in an area known as Zwavelpoort. The name “Berg en Dal” was derived from our beautiful setting meaning “mountain and valley”, with a natural river running through and lush green paddocks for your dogs to exercise in. Bringing your pet to us is giving them a holiday while you are enjoying yours!

Mrs Van Zyl
Owner
Berg en Dal is owned by Mrs. Wieske van Zyl. Wieske and her late husband, started Berg & Dal Kennel some 45 years ago when the late Dr van Zyl, then a practicing veterinarian in the east of Pretoria, identified some shortcomings in the management of the “normal run of the mill kennel”.
Antoinette
Manager
As a little girl Antoinette already helped in the kennel, and for the past 20 years has been involved full time as a manager. Her duties include looking after the animals and she welcomes them personally on arrival. Antoinette and Mrs Wieske van Zyl feed and handle the dogs themselves and know all the dogs by their names. The animals therefore trust them.
Our Friendly staff
Personnel
Our personnel all love working with animals and their duties include the cleaning of the sleeping quarters, making the beds again for that coming evening and cleaning the day camps. During the day they check that all the animals have fresh water and that the camps stay clean.
